Director Of Music - Mark Vause BA Hons PGCE LRSM
Mr Vause has been teaching for over 30 years. He joined QMGS in 2012. He is an Advanced Skills music teacher (AST) and specialist leader in education (SLE). He also has a Diploma (LRSM) in conducting. His main instruments are cornet/trumpet and piano although he spends more time now conducting and arranging music for youth bands. He has over 50 pieces published with Kirklees Music. He is currently Musical Director of the City Of Lichfield Concert Band, a position he's had for 14 years.

Mrs Sam Tranchant BSc (Hons) PGCE
Mrs Tranchant started helping out with the year 7 instrumental project 8 years ago and is now directly responsible for all the woodwind pupils. With the expansion of the school over the last few years she has become even more involved in the department and helps deliver some of the teaching at KS3, as well as conducting the training band and sax ensemble. Her main instruments are clarinet, saxophone and piano. She has been a member of the Lichfield Concert Band for 13 years.
